Retroactively Associating Activities

You've just wrapped on a very productive day, sending emails to your contacts and then you realize your Outlook wasn't connected to HubSpot. Or perhaps your activities logged to HubSpot, but didn't associate with all the records you needed.

Normally, this is where the frustration and aggravation can kick in, but with HubSpot there is always a way to retroactively make it right. Let's dive into the two scenarios.

Outlook Connection Didn't Log Emails in HubSpot

When you're in the groove of emailing within Outlook, it's easy to miss the signs that your connection to HubSpot has been disconnected.

Remember to always make sure the HubSpot email address appears in your BCC line - this means your email activity will be logged and tracked in HubSpot!

To ensure your hard work is recognized in HubSpot, you can go through your sent folder in Outlook and forward all your sent emails to HubSpot using the email address 3282063@forward.hubspot.com.

By forwarding, it'll log the activity to the proper records. The only downside - you won't be able to tell if/when the recipient opened or clicked on your email.

Activities didn't Associate with all Desired Records

Log an activity in the Contact record and it's not appearing in your Ticket record? No need to create a new activity, you can simply update the existing one.

Navigate to the activity you need associated with another record and expand it.

In the bottom right hand corner of the activity, you'll see is say [x] association. Clicking on this link will allow you to associate the activity with whatever records you need. Once the record is checked, it'll automatically be associated - appearing on that records timeline as if it had always been there.
